Mission

Carry out research, development and application of strategies, methodologies, techniques and actions aimed at the development and technological innovation that supports the conservation, management, recovery of ecosystems, adaptation to the effects of climate change, as well as the application of environmental expertise, to help to the maintenance of ecosystems and their environmental services; to solve national problems and advise on the resolution of international problems, focused on social benefit and the training of high-level human resources.

Vision

The CWLSM focuses on technology transfer based on services and collaboration agreements at the national and international level, oriented to social benefit, training of human resources through advice and training to develop, execute and evaluate projects for the protection, conservation, recovery and expert opinions environmental.

Objectives
  • Generate, apply and disseminate scientific knowledge, through research in the fields of conservation, vulnerability and resilience of ecosystems based on anthropic activities and the effects of climate change, developing proposals and programs for ecological restoration, environmental and environmental engineering in coastal ecosystems.
  • Train human resources in the field of ecological restoration, environmental and environmental engineering, blue carbon, environmental health and effects of climate change on coastal and terrestrial ecosystems by incorporating students in research at the undergraduate and graduate level.
  • Specialized training for officials on environmental assessments and expert opinions, restoration, preparation and evaluation of projects.
  • Achieve linkage with the public and private sectors to offer specialized services on impact assessment and environmental compensation, environmental expertise, ecosystem studies, application of environmental policies, and restoration of coastal ecosystems.
  • Teach courses and diplomas focused on the development, execution and evaluation of projects that anticipate future negative and positive environmental effects of certain actions; compensation and mitigation for actions carried out in ecosystems. As well as, in training on matters related to knowledge and experience in environmental expert opinions.
