This laboratory has a production system of distilled and potable water for the use of equipment from the same laboratory, as well as three areas:

• sample calcination with temperatures above 500°C,
• Processing and preparation of biological samples of sediment,
• Storage of field equipment (flow meters and water level, computers, diving tanks, photosynthesis meter, various materials).

The main analyzes carried out in different species of mangroves and jungles are:

• In sediment: texture, organic matter and apparent density, nitrogen and total phosphorus.
• In biological material: phenology and litter production.
