Laboratory of emissions of gases, biomolecules and fluorescence
The main objective of the laboratory is:
- Analyze the concentrations of carbon, nitrogen and sulfur in soil and plant tissue; and emissions of greenhouse gases (methane, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide and sulfides).
- Analysis of biomolecules such as phytohormones and metabolites.
- In addition, the laboratory has an area where any element indicated in the periodic table can be determined in a solid matrix.
For this, this laboratory is equipped with a gas chromatograph, mass chromatograph, elemental analyzer, X-ray fluorescence, lyophilizer and a microbalance.
Finally, the laboratory has an area where analyzes are carried out of: a) dendrochronology, b) dendroclimatology, c) dendroecology and d) dendrochemistry in relation to climate change and carbon capture; in woody plants.
